Looking for leather?

Market season is here and I'm a crafting machine! If you are visiting here because you received one of my ... ahem ... "business cards" - you're in the right place. (I have some real business cards in the mail - no more pieces of paper with scribbled hearts on them. I'm a big girl now!)

As you may have noticed, there is a lack of leather in the leather section of my website. Sorry about that... I have been busy making and haven't caught up in the documenting portion of my business. If you saw something you liked at the Stagnhare Market in Courtenay and would like to inquire, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at thickasthieves.tia@gmail.com. Otherwise, in the next two months I will have everything up and available for direct purchase.

To keep in the loop effortlessly, join my mailing list! The link is at the bottom of this page. I promise not to send anything less than amazing to you, and you'll be the first to hear of new products, events, and sales!

Thanks for visiting! It really means a lot to me to see interest from all the new faces I meet :)

Cumberland Crate Company - wooden crates for all your needs!

As some of you know, I moved to quaint little Cumberland this summer. My very dear friend Anabel bought a house and we decided to become wifey's :) We partake in crepe's and cookies, and now latte's, almost every day just like wifey's should.

Another old friend of mine runs this crate business, an amazing crate business. The Cumberland Crate Company. He and a slew of other handsome hard-workers pump out these multi-functional crates by the dozen. There is a crate for records, there is a crate for wine, there is a crate that goes on the back of your bike, there is a crate for your hairbrushes; including but not limited to, of course. And there's a yoga block!

I will be using these crates for my display at numerous markets this holiday season. If you're interested in them, come by and check them out for yourself.

Here are a few shots from a photoshoot we did a couple of days ago. The photographer Ron did an amazing job with the fall colours!

It was pretty neat to be asked to model for these, it made me feel that much more like a part of this new-to-me community. Thanks for that!

Keep checking back... Things are busy over here!

First of all, thanks for checking out my website! It makes me very happy to know people are interested in what I do with my time. My days are filled with crafting and I wouldn't have it any other way... My mom and dad would be (are!) so proud!

I know the site seems a bit... empty, in here. I don't have my shop open because I am busy creating things to fill my table at The Market Collective in Calgary this December. But, if you don't already, follow me on Instagram (@tiatiatia) to see what I'm pumping out of the leatherworks. Anything and everything I post there is up for grabs, and part of my collection. Some of it is one-of-a-kind (eg. fanny packs) so don't hesitate to contact me for an order or inquire about anything custom.

Here are a few photos to inspire you!

This is the original wallet from my collection. It will always be a staple and it's the one I use. I call it the Lo Wallet after my friend Lo, who has successfully stretched it out to fit 12 cards in either side! I only put 3 in either side... There is a coin pocket that is accessible through the bottom of the wallet. Oh, and that's an adorable picture of me and my twin sisters :)

This is the Rob wallet, also named after the friend who inspired it. Rob Huele? You might know him. He's a pro skier, whatever. Made with sexy Horween leather, and the wallet with the snaps has a sneaky coin pocket!

This is the very popular fanny pack. I made a buttload of these for a buttload of festival goers this summer, and they rocked them harder than I could have ever imagined. I used tiny swaths of genuine Pendleton wool inside the rhombus on the front, and this fall/winter I am trying a leather on leather approach for some who might prefer a more neutral palette, like myself :)

Ready-to-assemble... just waiting for the solid brass trigger snaps to make these keychains complete! I brand (literally burn my initials) on everything I make as a tia t. Stamp of Approval. Cool, huh?

SO, there you have it. I appreciate every ounce of interest I get so thank you again for stopping by. Please check back often to see what else I am making with these two hands that my mama gave me.

Much love,

Tia

Introducing the brand new Willow Wallet

The studio is getting messier and the new collection is coming together, piece by piece. Here is the first of a few new creations: The Willow Wallet. A simple yet comprehensive women's wallet that will carry all that you need for your everyday life. Cards, money, receipts, phone, lipstick, all in one place. How relieving is that?!

You will find this wallet available for purchase at The Market Collective in December, but if you simply can't wait ;) you can always shoot me an email. Don't forget that YOU need Christmas presents too, and the good thing about getting yourself a prezzie is you can get it for yourself 2 months early...

The Willow Wallet is 4.5" x 7". The exterior leather is Horween brand leather, a family run tannery in Chicago, IL that has been operating since 1905. The interior is a silky smooth pig skin suede. Retail $115.

Uprooted, but the wheels are still turnin'!

Hello everybody!

My good friend Joel from Jah Raven Creation (check out his amazing music and creations!) has inspired me to amalgamate my apparent talents in leatherwork with my more hidden talents in music making and photography, and let's not forget shopping.

With this new website I have also decided to re-brand my handmade & handpicked goodness under the moniker of tia t.

Conveniently bearing the double t of the former Thick as Thieves brand, my logo will not change. The familiarity of it will preserve the nostalgia of the young, budding company I started just last year. All the fond memories of the amazing support I have received from my community and beyond will be in tow of each and every thing I make. In theme of Thick As Thieves, I will continue to name the fruits of my labours after those who inspired them - for art is like energy: It is not created nor destroyed. Only shared :)

Thank you for the inspiration to build and grow and be who I am today.

All my love,

Tia XO
